Emsworth Sorting Office

Royal Mail are reviewing the provision of a service at Emsworth Sorting/Collection office.

I am a degree student at the University of Gloucestershire and have selected this service as one of the topics I am researching for my Degree in Community Engagement and Governance.

Please take two minutes of your time to complete this on-line survey about Emsworth Sorting/Collection Office. Completion of the survey is anonymous and you just have to click on the link below, answer ten short questions then click ‘done’ to send.

If I get a good response to the survey I will pass the analysis onto Emsworth Residents Association and Emsworth Business Association. And they will then know how important the residents of Emsworth think this service to be and lobby on your behalf. Your views are therefore relevant in the real world and not just important to me as a student.

Deadline extended to midnight on 5th June 2010 .

Thank you in advance for your contribution.

Shop Window Competition

A record number of Emsworth shops and businesses used their windows to reflect Emsworth’s St George’s Day celebrations.

Over twenty shops took part in a window dressing competition organised by the Emsworth Business Association.

The entry fees are being donated to the town’s memorial garden which was set up recently to commemorate Emsworth men and women that gave their lives in action.

Judged by local artist Pippa Blake, there were three winners of the competition.

First place went to Treagust Butchers, with the bottle of champagne and certificate being presented to Richard and Ben Treagust (photo 1 below).

Heidi’s Swiss Patisserie in the Square came second

Emsworth Antiques Etc in West Street came third.

Commenting on the window displays Pippa said

It was really difficult to decide which displays should receive the awards – they were all so good.
