Aims and Objectives
The Association aims to:
Promote Emsworth town as a first class
business location.
Lobby the local authority [Havant Borough Council] on matters
that impact business and business people [Parking, parking charges,
traffic, litter and planning and development matters]
Liaise with both Havant Borough Council and Chichester District
Council in getting improvements to our streets

and public places.
Work closely with the police on matters of joint concern and
interest.
Identify vacant business premises.
The EBA committee meets every month [On the first Tuesday in the
Brookfield Hotel at 6pm] where all members
are
invited to attend and discuss matters of mutual interest in an
informal environment.
Over the last 10 years we have commissioned and completed a
number of projects to improve the public realm
and make Emsworth an
even more attractive place to visit and conduct business.
We are working to help make Emsworth a “plastic bag free” town.
“Christmas in Emsworth” an annual celebration of the festive
season promoted by the Association.
What we do
The committee is elected annually. It is
comprised of members drawn from all segments of the business
community.
Each member takes responsibility for a particular aspect of work such
as:
Special Projects
Membership

Publicity
Social events
Liaison with the police and all local government bodies.
The committee prioritises needs according to the majority of members’
wishes and, following expert advice, takes
action on finding solutions. This can take different forms, such as optimising local
government funds, obtaining
sponsorships and gifts-in-kind.
