![]() Emsworth Christmas Celebrations started with the switching on of the lights We were greatly indebted to the CommandingOfficer and the men and women of 12 Regiment [RA] who kindly provided a six wheeled all terrain military vehicle to escort Father Christmas in a most novel fashion from his arrival point on the jetty to meet the children waiting in the town centre. Carols were sung and families entertained by Amber and youngsters from the Urban Vocal Choir. At the conclusion, mince pies and mulled wine were served to those attending, courtesy of the EBA. Our thanks to the Pastoral Centre, HBC, Havant Rotary and all who helped make this an enjoyable occasion. The following day theSunday Market was again very popular. |

This was organized by a few members of the EBA Committee in memory of Councillor Brendan Gibb-Gray's wife Margaret. It was a huge success raising £3555.00 for St Wilfrids Hospice/Macmillan Cancer Support. This far exceeded our expectations and we want to thank everyone who donated and supported us for this event. |

![]() Emsworth Christmas Celebrations In spite of gales and driving rain dramatically affected proceedings. The Sunday market went ahead and true to form many people braved the weather and supported the event. All entertainment that was taking place in The Square had to be moved into the Pastoral Centre for safety reasons. Many, many thanks to the Pastoral Centre for allowing the 17-piece band to play in the centre. Father Christmas finally arrived at 2.30 pm and entertained the children inside along with two street entertainers and a face painter. All the Christmas lights were switched on, mulled wine and mince pies were given out to the brave community who remained upbeat although rather wet and cold.

![]() Emsworth Seafood week The sun shone on Emsworth as the town's first ever Seafood Week as the village was packed with visitors to an Emsworth Sunday Market, every one seemed to be enjoying themselves and the pubs and cafés were packed out. Highlights of the week included: excellent fish meals in local restaurants, mostly sold out; an informative talk on the Rise and Fall of the Emsworth Oyster Fishery given by John Tweddell who had organised the week with the support of the EBA and local businesses; a guided walk around the Heritage trail and a successful Sunday Market. Over twenty people took the guided walk visiting sites around the town relating to Emsworth’s maritime history.
