Montezuma’s Announces Chocolate Innovator Competition

Britain’s Greatest Little Chocolate Company launches national competition to search for new flavour combination

Montezuma’s Chocolate has launched its first Chocolate Innovator competition. The nationwide competition gives one lucky winner the chance to design their very own chocolate and win a day in the life of Montezuma’s chief chocolatier.

The prize for the lucky winner is to see their idea created at Montezuma’s HQ, Chocolate Towers, and spend the day with the company’s chief chocolatier experimenting with flavours and ingredients, as well as experience chocolate production first hand.

Montezuma’s is a champion of British food and has a long-standing reputation for producing some of the finest, most innovative chocolate available in the UK. Its truffles and bars are renowned for using the best ingredients, so the company is asking its followers and fans to share their own exciting new flavour combinations and ideas. The new flavours could even make their way into Montezuma’s core chocolate range.

Montezuma’s co-founder, Helen Pattinson comments: “Dreaming up our flavour combinations can be challenging – although delicious of course! Our fans have always impressed us with the passion for ingredients and new ideas so we wanted to let them show us what they can do. We’re excited to see all the ideas and suggestions that come through – the more unique and exceptional the flavours, the better. We are looking for originality and interesting use of ingredients, and will of course welcome seeing entries which include British or locally sourced products. We can’t wait to welcome our winning Chocolate Innovator to Chocolate Towers.”

The winner will be announced at the Emsworth British Food Fortnight, which runs from 23rd September – 8th October 2017. The event hosts over 75 food-related activities including farmer’s markets, college lunches and Harvest Festival Services, plus tastings, exhibitions and demonstrations, and provides an opportunity to showcase the food heritage of the beautiful town of Emsworth and celebrates all that is great in British food. More details are at www.emsworth.org.uk.

Alistair Gibson of Emsworth British Food Fortnight, who will help judge the competition, comments: “We are so excited about this year’s Emsworth British Food Fortnight and once again are delighted to be working with Montezuma's Chocolate – its support will enable us to invest more in food education and awareness as well as allowing the range and breadth of events to increase. The Chocolate Innovator competition is a brilliant way of getting more people involved and allowing them to let their ‘food’ imaginations run away. I can’t wait to see the entries!”

Competition entries are being welcomed on A4 paper via post and should be sent to Montezuma’s Chocolates, Birdham Business Park, Birdham Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO20 7BT, with a competition deadline of 1st September 2017. This competition is open to Junior and Senior entrants. Full details are available at www.montezumas.co.uk.
